About this collection

This collection of data on musical theatre in contemporary Taiwan is a work-in-progress. We welcome your feedback and corrections.

The data is collected by Professor Jonathan Bollen and Professor Lia Liang Wen-Ching, with research assistants Hung Yi-Hsuan, Yeung Tsz Yan, Jan Chian-Hui, and Kan Tzu-Hsin.

• Our aim is to record works of musical theatre presented in Taiwan from 2000 to 2025. Some productions before 2000 and after 2025 are also included.
• Our scope is broad, including works of musical theatre (音樂劇、歌舞劇), as well as some cross-over works in related genres, such as Taiwanese opera (歌仔戲) and children's theatre.
• We have focused on information about works, companies, venues and dates. We have not yet included information on individual artists and performers.
